Plants of all sorts grow with exceptional speed in Cyprus. The warm Mediterranean weather means that the growing season is very long and at the beginning of the cooler months, we really get a second Spring. The plants then put on another growth boost.
Regular maintenance of gardens is essential, as overgrowing soon occurs and plants need to be kept in check. Irrigation is a must and this has to be checked frequently to ensure just the right amount of water is being fed to individual plants. The rainfall here takes place mainly in January, February and March each year, although some years the rain is very scarce. This means that we must plan gardens with water supply in mind.
